Hi. I'm Jeremy, and I design t-shirts.

The company I run to produce and distribute my clothing and accessory designs to the public at large is called Popfuel, and I use this website to showcase the various results.

The clothing pictured here is mostly not for sale as it is unique one-off works for specific people.

Occasionally I will produce something for the mass-market if such a desire exists. Want something? Write me an email.

Rough Rod
November 2005

Screen Type: 4 handcut, 110 mesh
Shirt: Grey American Apparel standard, X-Large

Production Notes:

Handcut paper stencils on clear screens based on the image of a '32 Ford roadster. The AA shirts tend to shrink a lot, hence using a size up.

Raygun
November 2005

Screen Type: 2 110 mesh
Shirt: Olive American Apparel standard, X-Large

Production Notes:

It's called Popfuel for a reason - I like pop culture and cars, and 1950's toys are as Pop as you can get. An experiment with halftones.

DKW
November 2005

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion, 110 mesh
Shirt: Brown American Apparel standard, X-Large

Production Notes:

Here's one of the fuel parts - vintage bikes. The source image was crap but that only seems to have helped the vintage look of the final shirt.

Yummy T-Bone
May 2005

Screen Type: 2 Photo Emulsion, 280 mesh
Shirt: Navy Blue Haynes Beefy-T, Large

Production Notes:

First shirt I put up for general sale. Sadly it would seem I am but one of three people who wanted a shirt with steak on it.

Cat Bum
May 2005

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion, 110 mesh
Shirt: Yellow Generic, Small

Production Notes:

This thing took me a total of a half hour start to finish. A friend dared me to make it, so I did.

What Ilona Likes
April 2005

Screen Type: 2 Photo Emulsion, 280 mesh
Hoodie: Dark Green American Apparel, Small

Production Notes:

Made specifically as a birthday present representing each of the items she likes most in this world:

FOOD! LOVE! KITTY!

I added THINK because she's thoughtful.

Teeny Little Superguy
March 2005

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion
Shirt: Black Haynes Beefy-T, Small

Production Notes:

This was an experiment in using a single screen for 4 different colours - it's not worth the savings in emulsion due to the increased time requirements. Made for a friend's birthday.

Fat People
February 2005

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion
Shirt: Black Haynes Beefy-T, Small

Production Notes:

Made this one as payment for helping me clean my basement. Glow in the dark ink.

Cosmonaut
February 2005

Screen Type: 2 Photo Emulsion, 1 Handcut
Shirt: Black Haynes Beefy-T, Large

Production Notes:

Made in about an hour and a half to be worn at a tinfoil hat-making contest, which explains the text. Original image pulled off the internet and converted to three colour index, with two burned screens and a handcut square frame for the background colour. Colours are actually much darker without flash.

Robots Don't Have Hearts
January 2005

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion, From hand-traced and desaturated image
Shirt: Run of 3 - XL Hoodie, Black; Large, Black; Large Longsleeve, Black

Production Notes:

Very complicated process - robot image made of two 8.5x11 transparencies. Each red heart was also screened one at a time and wraps around entire sleeve. Uses metalflake ink. Made specifically for a friend's birthday.

Apple Juice Scout
October 2004

Screen Type: 4 Photo Emulsion
Shirt: Custom-made Rabbit Hoodie

Production Notes:

This one nearly killed me. Silver and Gold metalflake star leaves, light green trunk. Each patch screened using a separate press and ironed on. For a friend's birthday.

Vroom!
October 2004

Screen Type: 2 Handcut, paper
Shirt: Large Haynes Beefy-T, Navy Blue

Production Notes:

Original is a photo of my '66 Ford Galaxie, reduced to one color, then hand cut. Made specifically for my courier bag. While I was doing that, I also ran off a shirt.

No Photo Camaro
September 2004

Screen Type: 2 Handcut, paper
Shirt: XL Haynes Beefy-T, Black

Production Notes:

Took desaturated photo of a 1968 Camaro and cut two screens - white and red. Weathered look on red done by spraying glue on paper, putting on screen then pulling paper, slightly clogging screen. Birthday present for my brother.

Robot
September 2004

Screen Type: 1 Photo Emulsion
Shirt: Run of 2 - Large, XL Black generic

Production Notes:

Just having some fun one night.

I Heart Robots
August 2004

Screen Type: 2 Photo Emulsion
Shirt: Run of 3 - Small, Large, X-Large, different brands

Production Notes:

Saw a similar shirt in the movie Dodgeball but I wanted it in black. I made three shirts - one for myself and two for friends. Very nerdy!

I Like Hot Chicks
March 2004

Shirt: Run of 5 - Large, X-Large, different brands

Production Notes:

First shirt I ever made, using the Speedball kit. Used glow-in-the-dark ink. Image is fully vector, composed of 5 different original images images. Not visible in the shirt image are the stars on each sleeve.
